Well, better late than never. I didn't get to update on Thursday for a number of reasons including that I was working, that our Internet connection is frightfully slow much of the time, (engineer coming tomorrow), and that I'd next to nothing to show. Anyway, now I've done a bit more and, although it's not as much as I'd hoped for (this is a slow border to work up), here's something anyway:
regarding your sbq it would have to be floss for me - I may be an odd bod but I am not over fussed about hd fabric as I think in some cases it detracts from the design, which is after all where all your hard work is.

Very pretty piece you are making.
I would go for the floss myself. I prefer the plain background for stitching to show up on. Colored backgrounds are fine but not mottled or multi-colored.
