Lilac Time

Here's the completed Lilac Time needle case. The fabric was stiffer than the Orange Blossom one, so I had to put it under 2 heavy dictionaries for hours and hours before it would lie flat enough to even be photographed!!! I adore the scent of lilac - it's my favourite perfume.

Here's the current status on the 'Welcome'. I'm not really that pleased with it as the goldwork is hard and is not as even as I wanted it to be and I'm struggling with the shading on the flower.

All right Lili, BE impressed, see if I care!!!!!!!!!=)LOL!!!!

two very nice projects.I seem to remember when I was little almost everyone had a lilac tree in their garden. You don't see them as much now.I liked all the little flowers on one big flower spike. The gold work looks fine to me,but I am sure it is hard working with gold threads.

Beautiful Lilac needlecase! Nice job on the stitching & finishing. Your Welcome looks ok to me. Maybe with more of the leaves filled in, the flower will look better to you : )

It's one of my fav perfumes as well! It reminds me of my childhood: there were two of these trees in my garden...
You made a great fabric choice: wonderful colours!
Thanks for letting me be impressed...
Hugs!

Your lilacs are so pretty! You are a fast stitcher and the work is so top notch. Your goldwork is fabulous. I'm looking forward to seeing the lily.

Hi Elisabeth, your lilac needlecase is gorgeous - such neat work! And the gold Welcome looks just fine to me, although I know what you mean about working with metallic thread. Have you tried using "Thread Heaven" to make the thread easier to use? It makes such a difference - not necessarily to the finished product, but reducing the level of difficulty in stitching.
