Frustration!

Oooof! I feel really fed up with my art and stitching stuff right now. Well, the C&G part of it anyway. I don't seem to feel comfy doing any other when there's outstanding C&G work and I am just so horribly behind at the moment, that I feel overwhelmed with it. I've lost most of this year so far to winter bugs etc and have been to college only once this half term - next week is the mid-term break! I'm also really fed up that the course just charges through so bloomin' many techniques and so on. I'm certain not even half of them - esp. the art side of things - are required by the syllabus and I feel dangerously close to quitting altogether.=( I need a good talk with the teacher tomorrow. In the initial stages, I was planning on fast-tracking and doing it all in 1 year, but things have gone anything but according to plan, I'm easily the farthest behind in the class and feel really embarrassed about it.

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a rough time of it, Elizabeth. Don't stress over the C&G course too much. It's meant to be something you enjoy, not another thing to worry about. Catch up with the others when you can. I hope your talk with the teacher goes well. And job hunting too, aargh!

Sending positive thoughts your way. :)

It sounds like the C&G course is even more intense than I thought. I hope you can get past these difficulties and begin to enjoy it.

{{{Elisabeth}}} Do hope you can release some of your expectations, resetting them a little lower, particularly for your C&G course. As for the job market, it's awful right now and if you really need a job, you may have to reset those expectations as well. It's tough, but hang in there!

I feel your frustration Elisabeth and you are a talented, interesting, and ambitious artist. It's never too late if you start today. It doesn't matter where you are supposed to be, it matters where you are right now and it matters that you have the desire to move forward today. Believe that this hiatus will be brief and the right thing will come along for you. Relax in this intermission...and prepare yourself for your next adventure. Live in this moment for that may be all we have.

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for your comments on my blog - yes I'm in Tyne & Wear.
Like you I've done C&G certificate level. Got half way through Diploma and gave up. I really enjoyed most of it but Diploma was just a bit too academic and I missed the practical side.
I also did C&G certificate in patchwork and quilting so I'm no stranger to C&G. It is hard work but I learned an awful lot, I hope you have plenty of support.Keep in touch and I'll give you help where I can.
