Band sampler stitching finished

Got some unexpected stitching time today - 4 hours of it - and managed to get, not only the stitching finished on the everlasting band sampler, but also all the beading and the trimmings! The snowflake at the top needs re-doing as I just noticed there's some thread caught around it. It was hard to attach that as the hole is rather too small for any needle to go through and I had to just poke one strand of floss through and hope for the best. If anyone has any ideas.... Anyway, it just needs finishing up into a bellpull now, for which I'll have to get an 'old' VS design out (old as in I've stitched it before) and look up how to do it as I've forgotten now. Oh, and it's not really blue, it's just bad lighting and camera problems.

Has anyone else noticed a distinct decline in blog hits and comments, or is it just me? I think it's the popularity of services like Google Reader that's leading to this. They're very convenient (although this blog looks dreadful on Bloglines) and I tend to use GR myself these days quite a bit, but it's a shame that so few comment nowadays and it can even be disheartening to see your visitor stats on Analytics plummet!! (No, it's nothing to do with the nice weather either!) And, hey! What's happened to the Stitchologist!!?? Where are you, Kate?

Gorgeous finished! I am sure it will look great into a bellpull.
I do hope to make something like this one day.

...I'm one of the people using Google Reader. ^^; It's so convenient... I always read your entries, though- and I love the embroidery you do.

Great finish! You are so organized with your time, I'm so impressed. I think the decline has got to do with summer. I know I don't go on as much now with better weather crying out for me to be in it!

Lovely work! I agree with Wanda I would rather be out in the sun, we have just been having our garden sorted by a lovely lady gardener so it's been hectic, hope you are well

Nah, it's not the nice weather. The 'downturn' has been going on since some bloggers were still complaining of snow!=)

I use google reader all the time as it it's the only way I can keep track of stuff and it pulls in things like flickr, flickr groups, YouTube, stitching fingers groups and forums too.
I have a stats reader that tracks both reader subs that were read and visitors to the site. About half my readers are now seeing via a reader. Some people just don't ever click through from the reader others do. I also think it takes a while to get in the habit of reading and clicking through - its easy to sit back and read rather than interact and let people know you are there.

I wanted to say congrats on your finish - on my screen it is very blue - is it that blue or is it the light, or an artefact of digital photography? it looks lovely anyway!

Have to admit, my lack of commenting is purely down to a change in lifestyle and having less 'down time' at home for stitching, therefore blogging (which comes behind stitching in the scheme of things). I've used a feedreader for a couple of years now, and love it - but I still take the time to visit a blog and comment if I feel the post warrants it (and time permits) :) BTW, your band sampler finish is beautiful is always :)
