A finish - gasp!
Yup, I finally got something finished up - the hardanger needlecase. A couple of weeks ago I got some green fabric to use as a backing for the actual stitching and also found the cotton doctor's flannel that I'd cut and brought with me specially. Here's the finished results.

I've also done a few more lengths of thread on the current hardanger piece and got about half way through the buttonhole edging. I think I'm more getting the hang of it now, but it's still a bit uneven in parts. I'll get there and no-one but me will notice anyway. Sigh! The curse of perfectionism!!!
Next up is to get the 'field mice' finished up into a nice cushion/pillow cover. I've got the first few pieces of fabric cut and pressed and should have that started over the rest of the weekend.

Great job! And I know what you mean about perfectionism - no-one else ever notices the imperfections.
è davvero moooolto prezioso questo lavoro. sono sicura che qualche tocco lo renderà perfetto, ancora di più.

Well done! The variegated threads add a new dimension to the Hardanger, don't they!
This is a lovely piece, Elizabeth! I hadn't seen needleweaving and filling stitches done in overdyes before. Fun! Congratulations on the finish.
Lovely work ! I'm trying to improve my skills on surface embroidery... little by little... LOL. You work is amazing... so beautiful !!!
And Yes !!! I'm your Sister (from NC, USA) !!! ;-)
On family worship night (at present) we are doing the cf-E and the gt-E . As a personal goal recently I finished the bt-E... what a great book to sharpen fs skills ! Now working my way through the bm-E !!!
Enjoy your upcoming Convention, ours is at the end of this month :-).
Done a marvelous job as per usual. Love seeing your works in progress and seeing the finished piece. I sadly am ending up with less time LOL to enjoy my stitching etc. I'll just have to make it quality time instead.
Elizabeth, this is worth the wait! I adore the coloured threads.
This is just lovely! I really like the overdyed floss with the subtle color changes. It really gives it a special look.
That's lovely, really beautiful!
Elizabeth, how lovely to see this finished piece. I too, love the overdyed thread which adds to the design. The whole piece is just delightful, well done. You may feel a little more inspired now that you have something finished. These things tend to bog us down at times. Happy stitching.
Lindo trabajo,el bordado es muy lindo.
